When B.J. could still throw 95 miles an hour, he was great. Jeremy Accardo was also great. I do not know how pitchers can change so much in so little time(talking about Accardo here; Ryan obviously had TJ surgery).

I watched most of the Giants vs Astros game today. Why do I like listening to those Giants announcers?

But watching the game made me think of something I'm always thinking, how can some of these baseball teams still keep going with the poor turnout of fans at so many of their games? Astros stadium was very empty, and this seems to be the case for quite a few teams now. The BlueJays are often quite empty, Oakland, Florida etc.
I often find it so sad to see that then watch a Yankee game or a Cubs game or something and see a sold out stadium. I'd kill to go to a baseball game.

I am not just saying this because I am a Giants fan, but you like listening to the Giants announcers because they are REALLY good. They are knowledgeable, they have pleasant voices, plenty of experience, and they are funny. Krukow and Kuiper are so good that they were the voices of the last EA Sports MVP baseball games.

The Giants with a sweep on the road! 3-0! It is beautiful. 17 innings before a Giants starter allowed a run.

Target field sure is beautiful.

Wells with another smash... if he can be a 25-HR guy again, he'll add so much to the Jays' offense.

Travis Snider is another big key. The Jays need his left-handed bat as Overbay continues to decline.

Yeah that was a big thing, they were easy to listen to and I found myself laughing at some of the things they were saying. "That bald dude" (referring to a balding man who caught a foul ball, you had to be there )

Nathan, on the topic of announcers, what do you think of this new guy Buck Martinez? Not sure what to think about him, he has one of those "1950 era baseball announcer voices, via "Wooaahhh neelllyyyy!!!" ". I usually enjoy those old timers but i'm not sure about this guy yet, I think i'm just a little annoyed that he replaced Jamie Campbell, I really liked him.

Anyway, great game against the Rangers today for the Jays. Well's had a great night with 2 homers. He now has 3 in 2 games, great offensive start for a player that needed it more than most.
I was scared Frasor was going to blow it again after he let the double right off the bat, but he hung in there. I was mostly happy with Tallet's performance tonight, but i'm really looking forward to tomorrow to see Ricky Romero play. He's probably my favourite pitcher on the Jays roster, one of them anyway, i'm hoping he has another great season.

I think the word "epic" needs to be censored again.

Not when it's used like this. It appears the Braves are at least improving over last year. It's too early to predict the entire season, but if this shows the things to come, it could be epic.

I don't have the luxury of watching the Jays, I'm stuck with the old 820 AM station. Their announcers do an epic job though.

Wells has a chance to have an epic season.

Sure looks like making Frasor the closer was an epic fail, eh?

Ricky Romero probably has the most upside of any of the Jays pitchers. I don't think he'll become an epic figure in Jays' lore like Halladay, but he has a chance to be good.

EDIT:

What is going on with Vernon?! 4 jacks in three games? Honestly?

Man, Jays win their first series of the season, if Vernon can keep this up he'll have almost 200 homers this season!!

And I really have a lot of faith in Romero, I can see him as a future starting rotation pitcher for the Jays.

We were lucky to pull that one out though - our offense was non-existent against a no-name pitcher.

I missed the entire game, I thought it was another evening game, but the highlights made it look pretty bad, on both sides though. I mean one run both teams combined until the 9th.
I'm still waiting for Aaron Hill to break out.

Is it wrong for me to like Baltimore? I used to hate them because I saw them as the Jays competition to not finish last in their division, but I actually enjoy that team. I like so many teams in the MLB it's crazy, I could be wearing hats for a third of the teams. Of course none of the teams come close to the Jays for me, but still, why is that? I'm not like that with hockey or basketball, strange.

Man, it's just so great to have baseball back!

Nope. I secretly like them too. It's so sad that they can't seem to win any more. I think what started my following of them is the fact that I have quite a few relatives living around Baltimore. It's the only team they used to follow, so naturally I followed suit as there are no teams close by for me. Also, I attended one of their games against the Pirates as my first professional baseball game.

I just wish they could win a little more.

I've always had a soft spot for Baltimore myself... it's hard not to root for the underdog in the toughest division in the game. They've got some serious talent in the system and some already up (Jones and Wieters are two scary dudes already). I think they will get better.
