matt, I think you want a triumph TR6 (or a lotus super 7) that's been totally gone through with regard to suspension, rocking a hartley (hayabusa) v8. 2.8L, individual throttle bodies, 300-500hp depending on build, revs to 11,500...

I'll take three

To each his own. I wanted an S2000 motor for a while (I can't remember the engine name), but I decided that the whole point of a Cobra is to scare the wizz out of yourself while celebrating greatness.

Nope, I can't fit in that car. You are forgetting my size, sir.

Just did. That is a very small coffin.

And to the bonehead who compared a Crown Vic with Police Interceptor package to a great car, you are a bonehead.

Reasoning behind smart forfour. I'm cheap, gas mileage is awesome, but I don't want to feel like an ant.

Ask Ben about those sporty turbo diesels that get like 70mpg and have a LOT of power and are NOT coffins. Smart cars are not the answer to rising gas prices.

Yes, they are also fun cars to laugh at. Those diesels sound interesting.

smart cars get appalling gas mileage for what they are. They're not super economy cars, they're city cars. It's all about size & parking, and not efficiency. You'd be better off with a lupo TDI

Try a TR7 then... more room in one than just about any other sports car of the era. It is also lighter and has a better suspension setup than the 6 (about the only case of a live axle being better than IRS that I have ever come across) I happen to know where you can get a decent example...

That's what I thought of it anyway.

Indeed.

I'm fairly certain a "Smart" "Car" would be totaled if you hit a dog.

I'm going to print up a bunch of bumper stickers that say "Not so" on them, and stick them on all of the 'Smart' cars that I see. It's going to be awesome.

Fifth Gear hit a concrete barrier in a Smartfor2 at 60mph head on. The dummy survived, but had broken legs. Americans are grossly uneducated when it comes to vehicle safety (think of all the fatalities inflicted on students by well intentioned but grossly misinformed parents who think Suburbans are safer than are Miatas).

Indeed...and I'm sure you've seen this video by now: LiveLeak.com - Head on collision test between 1959 Chevy and 2009 Chevy.
