Tesla Headlining at Sleepy Hollow

I’m becoming something monstrous, babe:
flash, fury, enchantocide. A cleansing
of the heath and hallways. There are no elves,
no angels, no spiders, and no mainframes.
Just me and my denotation. This name
that I have chosen is so cumbersome
and rolls like thunder. I tremble at it.
I grow black batwings and a seventh sense
(I can see through walls and along stanzas).
Red in pen and slate. For me, it's too late,
honey pie (you are driving me crazy),
so flee while you still can to the land
that winds beneath this ancestral estate.
Be my last statement to the world at large
while I spread my span to the four winds.
I can be slain with silver or salt-spray,
so off I go to seek waterless plains
where no man mines the virgin earth. Good luck,
you whisper from just outside the gate. Luck,
then mercy. I have made a believer
out of you. Let us see what faith finds me.

I harbor secret thoughts that Tesla was an extraterrestrial.

He's a fascinating figure. I'd love to write about him, but he's a bit overexposed.

This poem really doesn't have much to do with him, but I developed the title at the end and his name felt best suited to evoke what I wanted. In hindsight, it fits his story rather well in places.

Being an 80's guy, I automatically associate the name Tesla with a shaggy haired hard rock band from California.
