Modern Family

My word, this is a funny show. Anyone else watching?

In my opinion, this is the funniest TV show since "Arrested Development." Whip-smart writing, great acting, and interesting characters makes this the best new show of the year, in my opinion.

The Edward Norton extended cameo in the latest episode was ridiculous, absurd, and great. Elizabeth Banks was perfect in her role and her little asides were definitely spit-take worthy. However, it's not the guest stars that make this show; it's the interplay between the ensemble cast. No matter where or how the characters interact, it all feels right and natural. Each character is unique and interesting in their own right, which is incredibly difficult to do with so many characters in one show.

I've been meaning to sit down and watch it, as I'm a fan of Ed O'Neill. How's he in this?

I love this show. It has an AD "feel" to it for sure. However, this family actually seems to like each other. I'm definitely going to keep watching.

The most recent episode was friggin' hilarious. Phil's reaction to Fizbo was priceless every time.

Wow, I watched the first episode along with a more recent one. I thought this show was the worst from the past few years. I find it almost disturbing, I can't really put words to it though, I just think it is a terrible TV show and lacks a lot of funny. Besides the gay couple, I get a kick out of them.

EDIT*
This isn't the worst from the past few years, but its up there. Currently I think the worst TV show on the air right now is probably The Middle.

Really? I'm absolutely shocked at how wrong you are. This is the funniest show currently on TV.

Yeah. I'm caught up now and I wish I had another episode to watch.

I quite enjoyed Elizabeth Banks cameo in that episode. "I will throw that baby in the ocean."

I really find this strange that you guys think it is so funny. It has moments, but it's overall just annoying. Anyway, I think I've made my point, i'll let you guys discuss this unfortunate television malady.

You know, my roommate was watching this again last night. I've narrowed it down to Ed O'Neill's family as the part of the show that really annoys me. His wife Gloria drives me crazy, not sure what it is about her and that family of the show, but thats the detriment.
