PRS 57/08s

O....M....G!!! I never thought the tone of my PRS could be improved but I recieved the free pickup upgrade/refret/setup from the PRS factory and though if all else failed I could remove the 57/08s and reinstall my Deep Dish II and Vintage Bass. That's NOT going to happen! The 57/08s are all the hype. I've NEVER heard so much clarity in a pickup. They are SO hot! I'm hearing things that I've never heard before in just simple everyday playing. Best upgrade EVER!

What do they sound like? I haven't ever been a fan of PRS pickups, but I have heard good things about that combo.

Can you compare them to something comparable? (My current favorite pickup is the Wylde 500xl) I would describe it rather similar to how you are describing these pickups.

Tone wise they are a clearer, more aggressive ’57 Classic. There’s nothing negative to say about them other than I don’t like the hand etched “57/08” on the top of the covers but that’s just me being anal. If you like a ’57 classic but feel like there’s a little something missing, these have what they’re missing.

You had to pick one I haven't played. Would that be similar to say, a BB3?

I’ve found Burstbuckers to be a LITTLE weak and a LITTLE muddy. These smear the Burstbuckers! They’re MUCH more clear and MUCH more aggressive than any of the BB trio. All IMO obviously.
