Help with arranging pedalboard and using Boss NS-2

I recently started using effects pedals and recently got a Boss NS-2. I am confused on how to arrange the pedals and how to use the send / return input / output on the Boss NS-2.

My current pedals are:
Boss TU-2 (tuner)
MXR-102 (compressor)
EH Big Muff Pi (fuzz)
Boss NS-2 (noise suppressor)
Boss TR-2 (tremelo)
Boss DD-3 (delay)
Boss RV-5 (reverb)

I would greatly appreciate any help you could give me on how to connect the pedals properly.

I REALLY REALLY suggest you return the NS-2 and get a ISP decimator if you need to kill noise. the NS-2 Sucks SO much tone. really bad pedal IMHO. if you insist on keeping it run it in the loop of your amp at the end of the chain.

I would run it like this:

Guitar > Boss NS2> (send) Compressor, Fuzz, modulation, any thing like that> (return) NS2 > (out) > delay and reverb.

Typically, you want anything that affects the sound WHILE you're playing to be in the loop, and anything that trails off AFTER you play to be out of the loop. Otherwise, you have the tail end of your repeats or your reverb getting gated off by the noise gate.

I always kept my tuner in the loop as well so I could mute the signal when tuning. I know tuners are supposed to do that, but the tuner I have is a tuner from the pits of hell and it lets out this horrible buzzing noise whenever I tune, even when on mute.

I never had too much trouble with tone suckage on my NS2, but there could be some variability on build and stuff. Of course, I normally just dial out any tone suckage at the amp end anyways.

Cool pedal. Pretty useful.

I have to disagree with you. The NS-2 will always have an advantage over the ISP decimator due to its built-in loop, allowing you to kill noise both before and after your signal chain with one pedal. Does it affect the tone? Slightly. Very slightly. However, if you need this pedal anyway, you're trying to cut back noise at show volumes, and you're not going to even notice the difference, especially since a lot of people just turn them on and leave them on all the time. Not to mention the "tone suck" problem occurs with every Boss pedal, and he has a lot of them, so it really doesn't matter anyway. If you're that worried about it, do a true bypass mod. Otherwise, its a great pedal.

My suggestion is to run:

Tuner -> Compressor -> NS-2 (----(SEND)--> Big Muff Pi --(RETURN)----) -> AMPLIFIER
EFFECTS LOOP SEND ----> Tremolo -> Delay -> Reverb ---RETURN

If you don't have an effects loop, ignore that part and run the NS-2's output into the tremolo.

I should read his pedals before I post a reply.

Yes, definitely have the tremolo outside of the loop as well.
