I don't think any of the songs have to have christian meanings, it's simply a battle of the bands for members of CGR. My song has nothing to do with anything really, just green eggs and ham.

And in despair I bowed my head:
"There is no peace on earth," I said,

Of peace on earth, good will to men."

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
“God is not dead, nor does He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men.”

It's music made by Christians.

Indeed...a few of the songs were explicitly Christian. Most of them weren't.

Lyrics to Fleshbane: Personification of the Perplexed

I can see my enemy through his eyes, I can feel the pain he hides
I can see my enemy with blind eyes with pure hatred and despise
I can love my enemy if I try, I know he is the same as I.
I will hate my enemy through all time, my dagger peircing from behind

Everytime you turn around the battle for your soul proceeds.
In the end things aren't always exactly the way you wanted them to be.

I can feel my anger slowly die, tears for the fallen I have cried.
I can feel the anger inside of me rapidly rise, the strong are hard, only the weak cry.
If you look inside of me you will find my ire is fleeting, heart is kind.
Do not look inside of me, pay no mind. My heart is hardened and this life is mine.

I must rearange my mindset, love my neighbor as myself.
I love myself and not them.
You're wrong, it's all layed out clear.

Wrong

I should feel remorse for this feeling of self rightiousness.

The way I see it is God made everything. So that leaves a lot of things to write about.
I'd also say there's a place for explicitly Christian material and a place for material that isn't.

Plus, as noted already, there wasn't a rule that said a song had to have explicitly Christian lyrics...even if there was, who would determine what is explicitly Christian? ...considering not all of us are going to see things the same way...

Since people have continued to vote in this poll even after round 1 has ended, I went ahead and closed it.

At this point, IF YOU WANT YOUR VOTE TO COUNT, please use the thread for round 2.
