That's fair.

Well, I've played it for 20 minutes, and so far, I think it was worth the swap. The nostalgia draws you, and don't let the simplicity fool you; this game is a challenge, worthy of Super Mario Bros. 3 level stuff. Of course, I haven't even tried the multiplayer yet, so this could definitely be one of the best games to ever hit the Wii.

I feel the same way. I mean, it's a good game, but not the end-all, be-all that some people make it out to be.

So, not that the games are really comparable in any way, but in terms of which one (if you've played both) is more fun to play, Super Mario Brothers or Super Mario Galaxy?

Anybody further along in the game yet? Anybody else pick up a copy yet? I am curious to hear some more impressions.

There are some playthroughs on ye olde YouTubes. Looks great.

I wish there were more "2D" games. Sprites these days, especially in HD, can look amazing (see Critter Crunch on PSN for example). And who doesn't love a good ol' fashioned platformer? I've put way more hours into Mega Man 9 then I thought I would and it's done in early NES-style graphics, so obviously nothing as polished as SMBWii.

It's on the way from Amazon.

EDIT: Just picked it up from the mail room. Now I just have to wait till mid-December to play it...

My girlfriend and I actually "beat" the game last night, but we're a long way from completing it 100%.

It's really just another version of Super Mario Bros. 3. And that is not a bad thing at all. The later levels are tough, this game takes a long time to master.

Seriously though, 9/10 rating from me.

Same here. I would love a remake of Super Mario World for the SNES. Thats possibly my favorite Mario game of all time, next or tied with SM64.

Founds this under the tree, I love it so far. It really feels like a mixture of Super Mario Bros 3, World and a dash of 1 all lovingly blended together with updated aesthetics. Multiplayer is off the hook- this is the real Mario Party if you ask me.

Can't find it anywhere. Everyone seems to be sold out, even amazon.ca.
