| I am now in a state of engaged...ness. Yup. Don't really have much to say, just thought I'd let you guys know. I asked her a few weeks ago, but kept it on the downlow until we had a chance to go back home to Iowa to tell our families. Both sets of parents are very stoked.
We're getting married next July on my grandparents farm in Iowa, which is where my parents got married and my fiance's parents grew up on a farm as well, so its made pretty much everyone (especially my grandparents) very happy.
We have a dress already, fiance's been planning everything for a few months, so we've got a good jump-start on things.
The biggest problem we're running into is the size of the wedding and reception.
We both want a small wedding, but we know there are just some people we have to invite. Both of our families are very closeknit, so we decided to write out a list that included all family up to first cousins.... 73 people. wow. We're aiming for around 100 people for the wedding and 150 for the reception, since the farm location is pretty small, parking would start to become a real issue if we had much more than a hundred.
Well, there ya go. Some rambling. I'll post some pictures of the ring and whatnot as we get things figured out. |

| Holy crap, I'm a bit older than you I can't IMAGINE being engaged right now. I mean I deliver pizza . . .
Congratulations!

The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men.”

I do have to tell you though, for us it hasn't been the most enjoyable experience. I mean, it's been fun, but we've had our share of disagreements on things that have come up. Just get a lot of the planning done soon so you don't have to worry with it.

Congratulations! | Well, when you've known each other your entire lives and your parents have been friends since before you were born an all that... you get to know each other pretty darn well. Quote:

Well we've basically figured out all the general stuff, got locations and a guest list and reception dinner, now we just have logistics, like renting chairs and everything. |

However, the toils of choosing stuff really strained us. I have different opinions on things than she does and so it makes for an interesting time when picking colors and everything.

| congrats. 2 weeks before the wedding, just give her a free pass on everything she says or does. In my experience brides go crazy from the stress then.
