| George L's I just went out and bought some George L's cable for my pedalboard on Monday ... Just put them together and really anticipating playing through them after I bring my amp home from my church ...
Just wondering how many of you use them and how big of a difference they actually make ... I don't know yet, but in my anticipation I just figured I'd do this while I was waiting ...
I know I put this in the wrong spot, but I figured i'd get more of a response I hope for since I'm using them between my effects, if you know what I mean ... |

| I use them, I bought a big lot of them for cheap a little while ago. I didn't notice a big difference between them and my cheap cables, to be honest. The advantage for me is the ability to cut them to length and keep my board nice and tidy. |

| I just wish they weren't so expensive.
I would really like to be able to have my cables the exact length that I want them and have them all the same color, as I dig that clean look... but dang do you pay for it.

| The main reason I use them is because they are very compact. Worth the extra money, if you have a pretty full pedalboard. |

| I can't use them. But Bill Lawrence makes a similar product (which is hypoallergenic for me) which I can.

But being as my allergies cause george ls to make my skin blister off on contact, I really don't pay attention to prices for them. (just as a side note. My latex allergy is severe, and is extremely rare. George Ls are a fine product)

| You could always make your own. Cheaper, same quality. You only need to know how to solder.

| The only thing about that, they're not as compact as George L's. |

But the thing is, I heard that these cables were much better quality, because they're lower capacitance ... So I figured I'd try them out ... But after playing through them last night, I didn't notice enough of a difference to justify the cost ... So the only valid reason I had in getting them was to clean up my board ... |

| Haha ... Exactly ... But at least I have my cables cut to the right length ... It was more convenient cause my local music store has them ... Rather then having to order regular plugs and cables to make my own ... Although that would have probably been better ... Now I know what I'll do next time ... |

I got tired of cables going out on me for whatever reason, including having bad soldering or bad connections. I use them on my board into my amps or the PA and then into my guitar. They're not expensive when you consider that I have never had to replace any of them - I only had to snip the ends a couple of times to reseat the plugs. I've never had to drive to a music store to call on a lifetime guarantee, and at $.85/ft for the red .155 cable from Keeley Electronics, making a new 15' or 20' instrument cable is downright cheap (since I already had the plugs). I have not had to experiment with any other cables since I got these. |

I dunno if I'd ever want to use them as an instrument cable though.. How do they stand up to all that moving around, Hopeful?

| Well you can order the thicker cable ... There are 2 different sizes ... I think the larger size is much more useful for instrument cables rather than just hooking up a couple things on your pedalboard ... But I'm not sure how the connection in the plugs react when you move around enough ... I'm just scared that I'd lose connection suddenly and be extremely embarassed ... So I still use regular instrument cables ... |
