mine still hasn't arrived. I will probably do my normal methodology of run through as regular, and then bump up to veteran

COD4 was miserable on veteran when you get to some of the later levels because baddies keep spawning no matter how many you kill until you get to the next check point.

Here's another interesting article that has nothing to do with the controversy:

Was Modern Warfare 2 Really The "Biggest Launch In History"?

Funny how I find this so fascinating yet I have no plans to buy this game.

Spoiler alert...

I personally found the concept and thinking about it a lot worse than the level itself was. You don't really have to shoot at all, you basically just follow them around, shooting if you want, but basically just don't shoot the terrorists or they'll know you're not really one of them.

Basically all you need to know from the level is that the terrorists kill you at the end and leave you there so then the Russians blame the Americans for the attack and the Americans can't defend it because they have no proof their guy was infiltrating as he's now dead. They don't really explain that, so if you don't do the level it might be confusing. Of course now you know, so you can skip the level and not miss anything important.

I've watched walkthrough videos on YouTube for most of the game (have yet to find the cut-scenes though), and overall it looks pretty exciting! I don't have a next-gen console but I think over Thanksgiving or Christmas I'll be able to play with my brother and cousins when we get together.

There were several "tributes" to films just like in any other CoD game. The shower-room and green flares calling off the airstrike were right out of The Rock, and the Brazil part is from The Hulk. Of course there were also obvious tie-ins with the previous game: the mission "Just Like Old Times" is a lot like the sniper one, and in "Gulag" when they are running out to the waiting helicopter was just like the first mission of the last game.

Did anyone else notice in "Team Player" that when the building is getting destroyed while you wait in the caravan on the bridge, that several of the soldiers are taking video of it on their phones? I thought that was a neat little detail.

I just want to toot my own horn and say I finally got Mile High Club after many hours of trying. So intense. One time I got to the end and I was so jittery about finally making it that I shot the hostage. Ha.

I think I have to say that the single most exciting thing to me will be the perk that gives you unlimited sprinting. Lately, I've been using a class in COD4 that has C4, Juggernaut and Extreme Conditioning, I exclusively use knives and C4. It's actually surprisingly successful, but unlimited sprinting would make it amazing.

Ha toot my own horn? It's like say...giving myself pat myself on the back? Old expression. Quite possibly limited to the region I live in but I really don't know.

ugh, juggernaut? such a n00b perk :P At least you didn't say you used the stupid n00b tube with it, I'd have to put some smackdown on you

on COD4 I usually split into two classes. one used Overkill, UAV jammer & dead silence, and then I just carried the G3 w/ acog & g36c w/ reddot. For my close quarters mojo it was usually P90 silenced w/ silenced USP45, claymores, uav jammer & dead silence. Surprisingly effective classes.

normajean777: In COD4:MW there's a bonus level called "mile high club" which is obviously a play on the term for naughty airplane antics, but you're just rushing through to save a hostage and parachute to freedom.

Mr. Claw: I should go back and start working on the rest of the veteran levels. I can't remember where I left off, but it was somewhere about 2/3 of the way through. I haven't done any of MW2 in veteran yet.

Also, someone should take the '4' out of the title on this thread, it confuses me

M4 + Silencer + Heartbeat monitor+ Coldblooded + Ninja = decimation in MW2.

Also to back redbaron up, if you use juggernoob in any class at all you should just play Halo. Seriously.

so true. Also, I hate hate hate the new perk that's like ultra-martyrdom. You shoot someone from across the map in the head and they launch a freaking javelin at you. Not exactly sure how that works yet because I would rather use cold blooded than have the extra explosive power, but that's probably because I don't use the freakin' n00b tube.

I also love the FN FAL. If i could run two primaries and run the FN FAL & FN P90 it would be epic, epic win.

Try the FAL with the three round burst submachine gun... now that's a recipe for awesome! Assuming you are a man and play in hardcore of course... otherwise both guns are fairly useless... But I just started using 'em yesterday to great effect. And hardline. I love me some hardline.

People play non hardcore?

I stopped playing HC-team deathmatch though, as soon as HC-HQ got released because honestly, team deathmatch in hardcore just turns into a giant lame camperfest.

The ricochet thing in HC-HQ is cool, except for when some idiot on your team walks in front of you as you're taking out the enemy they aren't noticing and you hit them and of course it's a headshot so you die. a;slkdfjas;lkfjas;ldfkjas;ldfkjasdf

Are you talking about the p2200 in the machinepistols category?

does MW2 have anything like overkill (COD4) where you can carry to primaries?
