| Anybody Doing Acid? Just picked up a copy of Acid Music Studio 7.0 and loaded it onto my laptop last night. Seems reasonably powerful for home recording, especially using loops.
Anybody using it? Got any tips, suggestions, pitfalls to avoid? I'm sure I'll have questions as I dig in further.

| I've thought about getting Acid when Guitar Center had it for free after rebate. I didn't though. I'm gonna stick to using Audacity for now until I get enough money to get a digidesign m-box.

| I used it for a short period of time while I was in between different DAWs and trying to find out I liked. It worked really well for some simple loop based stuff that I was trying.
But after I started using Reaper, I ditched everything else. |

| The title of this thread makes me laugh.
My experience mimics akaukal. Tried it for a bit while looking for full DAWs. Fun for loop stuff, but I never used it for much more. |

| For folks who've used Acid, is there a way to monitor while recording? IOW, when you're laying down a bass part, for example, over a drum loop, is there a way to hear the bass in your headphones in addition to the drums?

| I would guess yes, but you're probably going to run into some latency issues when you do that. I avoid monitoring the instrument I'm tracking, just because my setup isn't fast enough. |

| So far I haven't been able to find a way to do it at all, so I don't know if there'll be a latency or not.
I laid down a bass track for a tune this afternoon, and went direct into my laptop. It really sucked not being able to hear the bass as I was playing. There should be some way to fix this.

| Yeah, you absolutely should be able to. Not sure I can help though... the version I used was from 3-4 years ago. Have you looked at the help files? or checked out the acid user forums? |

| No help from the help files. I tried a search at ACIDplanet.com without luck, but I haven't joined here to be able to post yet.

| Check the preferences to see if there's anything about "input monitoring". |
