Photoshop Elements seven point oh.

Anyone have any experience with this software? It comes bundled with the Wacom tablet that I'm looking at buying. How powerful would it be, compared to say, GIMP?

Photoshop 7.0 is better than GIMP for sure, but if you're going to get a photoshop software, go for something that you're going to use all the tools with regularly. It's an expensive software, and so if you're not going to be doing much extensive editing with it, then there is no real need to get a bigger package. But if it comes bundled with the tablet PC you're looking at getting, then you're getting a sweet deal.

Not tablet PC, a wacom graphics tablet.

EDIT: Which is about $90 IIRC, so I'd say it's a great deal, but hasn't 8.0 been released?

I'm not sure if 8.0 has been released, but I would imagine it has. Bundled software like this is typically two or three versions behind, or at least it has been in my experience.

Yeah, saw 8.0 on a shelf/table at costco.

Personally, from using 7.0 back in high school, I do know it's a good software. A bit behind-the-times, if you will, but it's still great. And again, if it comes bundled, then go for it.
