Killswitch Install on a Hellraiser

I did a killswitch install on one of our church's guitarist's Hellraiser last night. It was kinda fun since it's something I'd NEVER do to any of my guitars. It was surprisingly fun to mess with after the install too. I just soldered a normally open momentary switch between the hot post and the ground post of the volume pot and punched a hole in the guitar between the volume and tone pot. It was complete in less than an hour.

Interesting... my Hellraiser has individual control over the volume of each pickup so I basically have a killswitch if I need one.

His has just one volume and one tone (obviously from the pic) that are push/pull pots for coil tapping.

I was playing with an old guitar of mine that I sold to a friend (Squier Telecaster Custom II) that has the same type of switch as crazymoose described at band practice on Wednesday and got a ton of mileage out of a killswitch setup on that thing. I could probably mod something onto my guitar pretty easily, but I might just start "borrowing" my friend's guitar on a regular basis instead

Yeah, any guitar with a three way switch and seperate volumes for each PuP can utilize the switch as a killswitch. I've done it with my SG's and LP's pretty often. I have to say the momentary switch is a LOT more touchy though. Easier to opperate too. You can do quick triplets and stuff to by using multiple fingers, just like drumming your fingers on your desk.

My BFG came with the kill switch as standard, which I found totally pointless on a Les Paul, so I removed it, put the 3 way toggle in it's stock position and wired in a neck tone control. Now it's similar to a stock Les Paul setup.
