| Crazy Heart Learning about this upcoming film absolutely made my night. It's a brand-new drama written and directed newcomer Scott Cooper. Here's the plot:
"An alcoholic country music singer who, through his relationship and experiences with a female reporter, is able to get his life and career back on track and becomes the mentor of a contemporary country star at the peak of his career, while struggling in the younger star's shadow."
Jeff Bridges (who I consider to be one of the greatest, yet underrated American actors of this generation) is playing the lead character, Bad Blake: rumors imply that this movie is going to do the same thing for him as The Wrestler did for Mickey Rourke, in that it'll remind people just how talented he is despite the fact that he's slipped off the map for way too long. Maggie Gyllenhaal is set to play the role of the female reporter, Jean Craddock, and Colin Farrell will play the contemporary country star, Tommy Sweet.
A trailer hasn't been released yet, but according to IMDB, production of the film is complete.
I am so excited for this. It's about time Jeff Bridges got a potential "performance of a lifetime" role. I absolutely won't miss this when it comes out.
