| Dodge 1500 questions I just put a down payment on a 98 dodge 1500 4X4 with a 6" lift, and 36" tires. It only has 81000 miles.
Now, it has duel 18" glass packs. I have heard that glas packs are hard on valves. Is this true?
And, it does not have a raido in it. I have a 6 disc sterio. where is the best place to mount the CD player box?

| Does it still have a cat?
My understanding is that cats make most of the back pressure in a stock exhaust setup. Now, to learn if a lack of back pressure isn't cool with your engine, well I have no idea. Different engines like different things.

| What was the stock tire size? I'm wondering how many miles it actually has on it. |

| Stock size tires are 235/85/R16. I just went a looked on my dads truck that has 235/85/16 and they are 34" tall, so these are just wider. The tire on mine are not 36" they are 33".
soory about that.

| Without enough back pressure, heat can build up in the cylinders and burn exhaust valves, yes. Can we make a blanket statement about whether your exhaust valves will burn? No.
And this Dodge has a 6 inch lift to go from 31" tires to 33" tires? That's like getting a 40 foot extension ladder to change the lightbulbs in your kitchen. |

| When you speak of 33" to yours go on a 15" or 16" rim? Mine are on 15" rims. What the aferage price on tires that price? There is only one "Real" tire shop up hear within 150 miles, and I do not go there very often, so have not looked up the price on those tires.

My brother has a 79 ford F-150, ahd we where thinking that if I put new tires on the dodge, we might put the 33" on it now on his ford, but where wondering if it would need a lift kit.
