November Public Holidays in Australia

We get a day off to watch horses run in a circle but we don't get a day off for Rememberance/Armistic Day?

What are your views on it?

Everyone should get the entire month of November off. How can people work when they have beards to grow?

The ACT is the only place in Australia that gets the day off on the same day as the Melbourne Cup. Its called Family Picnic Day or something. Next year they are keeping the public holiday just moving it to a different day.

The more public holidays the better.

Yes.
Same here. ANZAC - Australia and New Zealabd Army Corps.
1918, I think. That's when they signed the Armistice Treaty.

Rightio...well, we're multi-taskers. We can grow beards, work and celebrate public holidays all at the same time.

Really? Is it open to all states?

All I was really asking everyone is this:
If you were Prime Minister of Australia, how would you prepare these and other public holidays in Australia?
