| Christian Black Metal I recently discovered Poems Of Shadows and Impaled Baphomet...and I kind of dig them. Who are some other quality Christian black metal bands? |

| Hey - what is Christian Black Metal? I could be naive, but I thought Black Metal was called Black Metal becasue of the "spirit" of the music. Is it actually just the style of music?

| The term has sort of been accepted as simply a name for a genre, though I still here people refer to some Christian black metal bands and Un-black metal.
I still hail Extol as the greatest Christian black metal/un-black metal band. I know there will be people saying "Extol isn't black metal, they're death metal". I'm no expert, but I still stubbornly view them as black metal. I don't even see the debate.

| I haven't ever heard it be called Black Metal, but I've heard Un-Black Metal though.

| I found several un-black (I guess that works just as well) bands that I totally dig.
Divine Symphony are really good in my opinion. The previously mentioned Poems Of Shadow and Impaled Baphomet are not bad. I also discovered Indwelling, Dark Procession and Flaskavsae. those last two are self-proclaimed darkwave and are really interesting.
I picked up Extol's Burial and it is incredible. |

And, if you have the chance, pick up any of their EP's. They are amazing as well.

I am also a fan of Antestor as far as this genre goes.

Oh, and you can't forget Lengsel! They were pretty amazing. I guess they are considered black metal?

| I'd also like to emphasize Extol's Undeceived album. The title song, Undeceived, is one of the most brutal metal songs I have ever heard. The eerie intro is brilliant, highly recommend it.

I think they were pretty ahead of their time.
