I use a "Pick Jesus" pick from the local Christian bookstore...Garden of Readin. I have a black, red and dard purple one. They also have this really cool verse on the back of 'em from Romans 8:1 I believe. Of course I'll be getting a real pick (thin ones I heard are better for your strings) once I get my guitar. Until then...

Well that's a debatable topic ... For the most part, if you like beating your strings up when you strum, then I do suggest a thinner pick ... Personally, I don't beat my strings, and I use thicker picks ... the size and type of pick you use also varies the tone of your guitar ... I find that some picks I use give more of a sparkle than others ... But it also has to be comfortable or else there's no use playing guitar if you use a pick you very much dislike ...

I don't really see a difference in the JD Stubby series and the V picks except the Stubbies look more comfortable.

I got both and the vpicks are FAR smoother and faster. The stubbies are fast and would be my second choice but the vpicks are much, much smoother to play with.

When I use thin picks, I end up strumming harder because it doesn't feel or sound right to me. In that way, thin picks are actually worse for my strings.

I used to use Dunlop .58mm faithfully. In the past, probably nearly a year, i've been using Dunlop .46mm. They are really thin, not sure why I started using them, but I still prefer the thin picks, though sometimes I find them too flimsy. Something in between may be perfect.

I'm pretty sure your fingers probably kill strings a lot faster than any pick would.

i like the ebe 'pik' but only the glow in the dark kind. The regular ones are too stiff like a regular medium. The glow in the dark material is more bendy, so it gives a bit more flex, but still a heavier weight.
