Tech 21 Character Series

Anyone have any experience using these pedals in church? I'm thinking of picking up a Blonde or a Liverpool to use with an EHX 22 caliber into my 2x12 cab or sometimes straight into the PA. Sometimes I'll use it in stereo with my Pro Jr as well. Seems like a nice way to get a portable rig though.

I have the Liverpool. At one church I play in, I go into a Blues Junior, and at another church, I go straight into the PA. The Liverpool sounds wonderful both ways. I have the dirt pedals before it, and delay and reverb after it. Sounds fantastic!

Darrell999, how good does it sound going direct in comparison with running it through the Blues Jr. or just micing the Blue Jr.s w/o the Liverpool?

Going direct sounds terrific--kind of like an AC30. Very chimey, depending on the setting. I like the clean setting and putting overdrive pedals in front of it. Going through the Blues Junior seems to brighten and tighten the amp and give it more of a presence--hard to describe. Miking the amp without the Liverpool still sounds good, because I like the Blues Junior--just sounds warmer and darker.
