Unhappy Someone help!

Okay, I'm a new learner when it comes to everything about an electric guitar. Can someone teach me the ropes on "speaking guitar". My passion in life is the worship ministry. I love worship songs. The only thing is, I don't know how to read notes. Sure I've had help but the way it's done here, it's a little confusing.

Right now, I want to learn "Every Move I Make". All of it. Thanks a lot and God bless.

How to read tabs:

How to read chord boxes:

How To Read Guitar Chord Charts

What we normally post on this site is a mixture of the two. Pictures of boxes being relatively hard to post.

As you look at your guitar left to right on a standard tuned guitar you will see X, O or a number. X means don't play, O is an open string you play it and the number is the fret to finger as you play it. So a G major chord will be 320003, 3X0003 or sometimes 320033 for an example.

Hey ShannonD.
Myself Millermccullum and I read your entire posting. Welcome to the forum ShannonD. I admire your love of worship songs. You should have to take advise from an electric guitarist Teacher. He can teach you the ropes on "speaking guitar". After that you are able to know how to read notes. Anyways Thanks. Stay Connected.

Welcome to the forums, Shannon.

I'll just have to echo the advice of taiko. Getting a teacher or taking the time to learn how to read both tabliture and standard music notation will serve you well. As someone said to me once, "Make the music work for you, not the other way around."

And, a piece of advice if you plan on posting here, don't worry about the crazies. They pop in and out a few times a thread, but they're really harmless.
