Old Cameras

Great-great-grandpa was a professional photographer. I think that's why we have a box of stuff like this. We also have a box full of glass negatives.

Nice. I love vintage cameras. I have a bunch of cameras from the 60's and 70's. Probably not as old as most of those.

If you guys like old cameras, you need to start going to garage sales. At least once a month it seems, we run across a box full of old stuff like this. We rarely pick any of them up because we don't know anything about them, or enough to know whether any of them will be worth trying to resell. I've passed up stuff pretty similar to the cameras in the picture quite a few times.

I'm not interested in them, we just have them because my husband's family never gets rid of anything. They had lots of warehouse space, so they just stored everything. This is also why we have a boat load of really old books, pocket watches, and a house full of antiques.

I just thought people here might find them interesting.

The problem with old cameras is that so many of them took a type of film that is no longer made. If you're lucky enough to find the film, it'll be even harder to find a lab that can develop it.

Of course, I've never been a camera collector. I like old cameras, but only if I can use them.
