How would I ship a desktop PC?

I'm wanting to sell some of the old computers I've got on ebay, because nobody on craigslist is buying them. How would I package them so they won't break?

use double boxes with foam or peanuts in between.

Its going to be expensive to ship, so take that into consideration.

Also, make sure there is no room for the components to move around. Otherwise, it will bang into things in transit and probably get damaged.

We have special boxes that were designed by UPS for shipping desktops to our service center - basically to meet UPS requirements they built some sort of foam packing material that separates the tower from the actual box by at least 3 inches on all sides... that's about it.

The suggestion above would probably be the easiest and most reliable method. Put the computer in a box that fits it snugly, then put that box in another box that has at least the minimum amount of room recommended by the shipper around it (I believe 3 inches for UPS).

Ship out lappies that are already broken, then collect the UPS insurance money.

7 layers of bubble wrap should do the trick.

I agree though, this is going to be a very expensive shipping job.
