| This is so sad. I might draw a storm of criticism for saying this, but I think it's morally reprehensible that the most richest nation on earth allows this. ☺☺☺ happened to Christian charity? |

| That bothers me a lot... but what also bothers me is that the journalist who wrote about that, will go on to write about other things, and never be allowed to actually DO anything about it. They can't even care about the topic, or they wont be allowed to write about it. *fed up with journalism*

| Guess that all depends on which journalists you talk to.
Sorry, journalism major, and I'm taking History of Journalism, and Journalism Ethics this semester...

| Homelessness is not always forced upon people. Some choose it. |

| Certainly didn't sound like the Bergers made homelessness a lifestyle choice. |

| Some people eat poop. They call it a value menu. |

| homelessness can be a vicious cycle to break. people don't want to hire you because you're homeless, but not having a job--and therefore not having money--keeps you homeless. I don't see how anyone would willingly choose that. I also don't think anyone can reasonably equate being homeless with choosing to eat off of a value menu. |

| I don't know anyone that equates the two either.
I've met a homeless man in Seattle who chose to live 'off the grid' as he put it. He prefered being free to come and go as he pleased, and was fed when hungry, clothed when naked and sheltered when cold. I'm certain that he had a mental imbalance, but he seemed lucid when talking to me.
There are all kinds of people on this planet, and I certainly can't claim that every homeless person wants to be homeless, anymore than I could say that every person who eats off the value menu knows there's poop in the meat, but some do. |
