| Vox Night Train Vs. AC15CC1? Hey guys whats your opinion of the two? I've had an AC15CC1 and loved it but was wondering which one you guys preferred.

| I have the Night train. It's a bit of a different beast. Sure, on bright channel with pentode mode engaged they're about the same, but the Night train does not have the effects of the AC15, but in triode mode or with the thick switch engaged, you get a warmer higher gain tone. Mind you, it's not gonna be metalz but it will get you much closer than an AC15 would. Also it's only available as a head, no combo.
So, if you do not need tremelo or reverb built into your amp, then I would say the Night Train is the best low wattage amp on the market. Period.

| They're similar amps. I think the decision comes down to whether you'd prefer a head/cab or combo, and whether you'd rather have reverb and tremolo, or the ability to get higher gain... Both great amps!
Why did you get rid of the AC15?

| I traded my AC15 plus my broken SX SJM62 for my Highway One Tele. Haven't regretted anything but the crate I bought... The V50 is a decent amp but the Vox fits me a lot better. I was thinking actually about trying the Head/Combo thing again. That way I could get a 212...

| I owned a AC 15 and have played the night train extensivly.
If you want Plexi in a box(with a vox twist). the night train is for you. if you want classic vox jangly tone ac15. |
