| Rally! (biggish pics) so I'm crossposting this from my journal since it's definitely cars applicable, and I don't seem to get a lot of cross traffic
Went out to Pomeroy, WA Sept 26th & 27th for Wild West Rally, and well, the pics speak for themselves. Wild West Rally 2009 - full gallery
Couple faves:
I had friends who were co-driving in the red evo & green crx, and another friend who was crew cheifing on the evo. Pretty epiqqq experience really.

| there are quite a few races on the east coast, I think the closest might be in NY though. (100 Acre wood?) Rally America would definitely have the details on that, but there's definitely some travel involved. I ended up having to do about 6.5 hours of traveling to get to the spot where they had Wild West.
This week some of the guys who were at WWR are driving to Michigan for the Lake Superior Performance Rally (LSPR), so hopefully they'll get some good pictures/vids from that.

| Closest this season was in northern PA. Workable, but weekend trips are reserved for the famous autocross meets at cumberlan airport. Haven't actually made it out there yet, something has always come up, but it's supposed to be the best A/X event in the area. National Road Rally 2008

| Awesome...Is this an annual event? I see a road trip in the future. Where the heck is Pomeroy anyway?
(Just realized this is post #200... how fitting it is in a car thread)

| Pomeroy is out near pullman, basically on HWY 12. It tends to be annual, you kind of have to know when they're going on. The next one is Mt. Hood Rally on 10/24 Mt. Hood Rally 2009
They do tend to change location/date a bit each year so you kind of have to keep up on it a bit.

| Isn't the first picture of a Honda Civic (maybe a 91?), and aren't those FWD cars? I guess they convert them to RWD for rally racing. I am going to have to go to a rally race sometime.

| Judging from the pic it's still FWD...

| It's a CRX, and it's definitely FWD. In the RWD category there was a corolla (AE86), and an FB RX-7. In the FWD class there was a sentra, the crx, a couple GTI's, an acura RSX and some other stuff. In the AWD class there were all manner & years of subaru represented, and the one Evo, the DSM had major problems and only did the very first stage.
Generally speaking there are separate classes for FWD, AWD & RWD, and then different levels of class inside that to kind of break it up. Obviously an unlimited car like that Evo being classed with a friends geo metro rally car wouldn't be terribly fair.
