| Forget And Not Slow Down Has anyone heard this new song by Relient K? It is THE BEST SONG I'VE EVER HEARD FROM THEM. Just wondered what other people thought of it. |

| I'm not sure it was necessary to start a thread about one song, nevertheless, this will probably be moved to Releint K subforum (i think one exists).
I thought the song was really good, i'm not much of a RK fan, but I enjoyed it.

| I really don't know where you got the idea that a thread about 1 song is bad. This is a place where people can post about whatever they want as long as it isn't immoral or something but I think we all agree that Relient K isn't.
btw ... I didn't know that there was a Relient K subform. guess i'll categorize this better next time. |

I didn't say it was bad, I just said it probably wasn't necessary. I know very well what people can post on this website, i've been a member and moderator for a while now. I wasn't trying to upset you, bud.

| Relient K died after Five Score and Seven Years in my opinion...

| "Five Score & Seven Years Ago" is the only Relient K album I own. I like every song on it except "I'm Taking You With Me" That song is retarded. So stupid.
"Forget & Not Slow Down" just has to be one of the best songs I've heard from anyone ... ever. That's how I feel about it. |

And I thought "I'm Taking You With Me" was one of the better songs on that album.

Five Score wasn't terrible, but it was far too much of a love CD for me. Like it seemed like every song was about Matt and his girlfriend. I did like Deathbed and Devastation and Reform quite a bit. The Bird and the Beesides... That's when I gave up on them. Scene and Herd was ok... The rest of it was like country or something.

| As another disgruntled fan who was not such a fan of Five Score..., I think you guys should at least give the new album a chance. I haven't heard the entire record yet, but the songs I've listened to so far have been a big step up from their most recent efforts. They could really have something special with this one.

| I didn't think the song was anything special by any means but it wasn't bad at all.

| If the lyrics were better on this new album, I would be totally in love with it. I really like a lot of the songs, it's just the lyrics are so bleh. Relationhip after relationship.. blah. |

| Matt Thiessen doesn't write about silly things anymore and his fans hate it.
That's what I'm getting here.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal". |

| Read what I said. Nearly every song is about a failed relationship. The remaining are still about relationships. It's just boring to listen to when it's every single song.
What I have liked about his lyrics generally is the wit, which is lacking in this album. |

| On Thiessen's side,, if my fiance broke our wedding off and broke up with me I probably wouldn't be able to write about very silly stuff either, but on the fan's side I agree, the silly-ness is missed. I wouldn't doubt if future albums returned to the Relient K norm a bit as Thiessen is going through some tough crap right now, but come the next album maybe not.
