| This is what I did today.
I got this old 1987 Dodge Dakota that I bought last summer for $200. Over the spring it died. I just let it sit all summer and the yesterday my mom asked me what I was gonna do with that rusty old pile of just sitting out in the field. Well i wad kind of forgot I even owned that truck, but when she said if I did not do somthing with it she was gonna have it hualed off. WHAT!!! Hual of my first truck???? The truck I drove every where for 6 months???? The truck I paid $200 for??? NO WAY!!!!
So today before I went to work I went acrost the road to the field hooked up a bettery and het the key........Nothing. Well when I parked it there it at least ran on two cyenders. So I went and got a jug of 40/1 mixed two-cycle gas. poured the carburater full and got it and hit the key....there ya go.......sounds like a old John-Deere. Forgot I took the muffler off to put on our van. well any way I pushed the petel all the way on the floor and droped it it reverse and let the clutch out and..........stalled it. Its kind of hard to get a truck that is running on two cyenders to move. So I had to restart it. This thing is a pain to start because there are no ends on the battery cables. So I had my brother pop the hood, hold the wires on the battery termanel and I hit the key. This time I pushed the gas on the floor, but it if first gear (lower) and S-L-O-W-L-Y let out the clutch. Ok so now it is moveing. So now I got to get up the hill to get to the road so get about a 100 yard run at at. Man does this thing sound bad! well any way after a long time I finly got it parked in front of the garage. It would have been easyer to push it. So I start tearing apart the engine. I had a "EXPERT" look at it this spring and he said it was out of time. I I pull the timing belt cover off and......Its in time. Interesting. So I deside to check it for spark. Well it is getting spark, so i pull the spark plugs and check compression. good compression. Interseting. So I clean the spark plugs and put them back in and start sliding the wires back on. This is one of them rigs with the spark plug caps about 4" long. so i slide them on and they snap on. what the hay???? They did not snap when i pulled the off so I pull it of again. It snaped that time. So I stick them all back on and climb inside and hit the key.....Nothing. Oh ya. BROTHER GET OVER HERE AND HOLD THAT WIRE ON THE BATTERY!!!! Ok now im cooking. het the key and my brother jumps about 6 feet in the air and when he lands his ears are smoking. He made the mistake of holding the copper wire that sticks out of the rubber. well i went and got my other brother (the one who usely holds the wire) and I get it started and....PRAISE THE LORD!!!! Its running on all four cyenders!! MAN IT THAT THING LOUD!! It was so loud that I did not hear my mom screaming at me from the top of the stairs. So i got in trouble for ignoring her. well any way, that send me over to the neaghbors for a muffler. We got one of them neighbor that never throws any thing away because it might still be good. (My dad is the same way). Well he did not have a muffler, but did have a old cherry-bomb. Perfect! so I go stick that on there and then run about 7' of pipe to it sticks strate out the back. looks cool, and sounds even better. Quite enough my mom and dad dont complane about it, but loul enough that and body that knows any thing knows my truck sounds cool...Perfect.
Well any way, now just have one ore thing to fix and it will be back on the hiway. It seems that when it was sitting acrost the road a squirrel got in there and chewed of one of the wires for the head lights, so now when ever you try to turn on the head lights it dies.
But I put ends on the cables so now I can start it without zapping my brother.
Ok so I Have to go to the car fourm and ask a question.
BTW-I thought zapping my brother was funny, but he did not...nor di my mom.

| PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOT MY TRUCK WIRING FIGGERED OUT TODAY!!!!!
Mom asked me to move fire wood so I went and started my truck, and drove over too the wood pile and as I got out hit the head light switch with my leg. Of course it died like it always does, but then I thought, Interesting......So I got out and popped the hood and unplugged the head lights. got in and it wont start. AT ALL!!! (It had this weird thing where some times in it would not start you could turn on the left blinker and the hazard lights and the heater and it would start - honest) so i plug back in the left one and it starts with the hazard light on (I have had to have the hazard lights on to start in sense it died). so i get out and cut the ground wire going to both head lights and hooked them up to the battery ( doing some testing in the spring I figured out that the short was in the ground system). got in and hit the key and............PRAISE THE LORD IT STARTED!!!!! I turned on the head lights and it kept running and tried the blinkers and they work with out make the engine rev up and down, but do brake lights. So I crawl under the truck with a tester and start testing wires. none are hot. What the hay???? so i start messing with it in the cab, and notice that a fuse is missing out of the fuse box.......Interesting. So I get out my owners Manuel and check the number and....Its the one for the brake lights! I went under the truck and cut all them wires for no reason! well any way I got it fixed, got it all put together and took it for a test drive and it is the only time I have ever hit 80 MPH in that old truck.
Me and dad are gonna take it Paxon tomorrow. that's about a 230 mile drive so you might want to pray for us.
Well a tire costumer just pulled in so I got to go help him.

| Some times.......... Me and a guy that showed up today to look at tires went out to look at my tire pile. I run a small tire shop for my own money so have about 50 assorted tires in tire racks in my shop. well I don't really have a shop, I have hand tools and work out side so have all my tires out side. well any way, the guy selected the tires he wanted, a brand new set of studded weather masters that I had bought for my truck, but then never used because I upgraded to 15" rims before I ever mounted them. well any way i get them mounted on the guys rims and find out that some one shot it in the side wall with a pellet gun. I never thought a pellet gun would go though a 3-Ply side wall, but I was wrong (It was not me who stot the tire).
Well any way, I am not very happy about it. them tires cost me $215 and now one if ruined and no one buy that kind of tire unless it is a set.
waste of money.....................

| IT DID IT!!!! Today me and my dad went 327 miles in my truck with out a glitch.
well.........
At one point the low oil light wire came off of the engine, so it looked like the oil dropped really fast. low oil light came on. I was on a side road, and thought I had ripped out my oil pan. shut it off got out and opened the hood, and cant figure it out, then my dad points out the wire......
well all in all it was a good day.
Did not complete my mission, but did shoot a really nice cross fax, and that paid for the gas plus some, it will sell for $85.
One other thing.........
We went 327 miles on 1/3 tank of gas. The truck has a 12 Gallon tank.
That really good for a truck.
and a lot of the way I was riding 3rd gear. I have a 5 speed stick in it.
Fun day.
Saw lots of wolf tracks, but never got a shot at one, although we tried to call them in.

| He need a smiley with smoke coming out of its ears..... I am getting really frustrated.
Today I found 1500+ rifle bullets dumped of the floor, then got in my locker and found that two full packs of my pens where gone.
I got a lock on my locker so some one took the lock off and got in it. they did not put the lock of my keys back and I can not find them.
On the other hand the truck is still holding up very well, and all my friend say it sounds awsome with the exhaust system I put in it.

I do everything in my power to make my Jeep get better gas milage and the highest I've gotten is 23 mpg. Lowest is 19. But either way, congrats on fixing the truck so it's working better now.

| I got a 87 Dodge Dakota 2.2 4 Banger with a 5 speed stick, and I don't know how I did it. I know the gauge reads right.
One this on that truck though, it fist half tank goes really slow, then the second will drop like a rock, you can watch it go.

| I actually saw snowflakes here earlier this month. It's kind of early for us to be getting snow though.
One of my favorite things is to pull each other around on a sled with a four wheeler which I guess is similar to what you're talking about with a car hood.

| With the car hood you can fit more people, and it slides side ways better, like when doing 360s.
I don't have a four wheeler, but have used my truck.

| I will NEVER EVER offer to pull studds for some one again....... What a day! Broke my bead buster and one of my wrenches, then when trying to pull studds out of a set of cooper 235/85R16 I wore all the skin off the palm of my left hand!
On all the other tires I have ever done the studds just pop out. Not on Coopers!
I had to dig in the tire with my studd puller, then the if I was lucky it would pop out. it took me almost 4 hours to mount two tires, and pull just over half the tires on one tire!! And broke two of my $150 tools.
What a day.......

| I DID IT! I finely got my snow machine fixed right..........sort of, and have been practicing doing wheelys.
Got it so where on packed snow I can get the bumper to scrap the ground (in deep snow i am lucky to get the skis 6" of the ground). If I can keep the bumper off the gound about 1/2" I can wheely about 25 yards.
Boy are my arms tired from yanking on the handle bars.............
