I gave it a 7. I mean, it is David Crowder* Band and you can't help but love that, but it's so different compared to the prior records. For one there is a lot more programming and sampling going on here which makes it sound almost like a remix CD. The songs synch up from from to back so it's like listening to one entire long song. Also, I thought the vocals were too low in the mix or slurred or something for most of the record. It was kind of hard to understand in certain spots. Overall a good album, but not quite as good as I expected.

To me, the best Crowder Band album to date is A Collision, and that standard has ret to be reached by the two albums that followed it. Having said that. Church Music is some thing very intriguing and more than just pleasing, musically. Personally, I enjoyed some of the acoustic versions released with the Pre-Order more than I did the final mixes on the album. Granted, the acoustic songs don't fit with the rest of the album, but they were more than wonderful. The album itself deserves no more than an 8, IMHO.

I would have to disagree with that - to me Collision is his worst album ever. I haven't heard "Church Music" yet, but i've heard everything else they've done. I like remedy the best

Also, let me say, the Grammar Nazi in me really freaks out about the "None Compares to You". I think it's more fitting to say "None Compare to You".

Just to make myself clear ... I don't dislike "A Collision". I like it a lot. I just think that "Illuminate", "Can You Hear Us?", and most of all "Remedy", were better

Church Music is a fantastic album. Not their best, in my opinion, but certainly up there with the cream of the Crowder crop. And I gave it a 9 anyway because from a musical and technical standpoint, this record was brilliantly conceived and put together.

I gave it a 10. To me, David Crowder Band is one of, if not the most creative, worship artists. I like how the whole album flows from the start to the finish and the end actually flows right into the beginning. And it doesn't sound like an ordinary worship CD. At least as good as A Collision, if not better. I think it's got a more unified feel to it. You can tell they put a lot of work into it.

My feelings exactly.
I liked this album, but it started feeling a little too monotonous for my tastes; not enough variety in styles and such. Lyrically it's brilliant. Im just not that into the whole sequenced electronic vibe of it. I much prefer the more organic guitar driven stuff.

I still think A Collision is hands down the best Crowder album ever!
