need help with my pots

I have an Epiphone Viola I am selling... the pots were a little scratchy, so I pulled the control cover off, put some contact cleaner through the pots as I have done before on other basses... no prob. Scratchiness gone.

HOWEVER: now, when I turn any of the knobs up (vol. vol. tone) up past about 5, I get a lot of hum noise that was not there before... not really an improvement over the scratchiness so much. sounds fine at lower volume. I do not think it had the problem beforehand.

I will dig back into it tonight... I am wondering if I mighta pulled a ground wire loose or something? Any ideas? If I can't figger it out, I am gonna take it to a shop, but I would rather not have to pay to fix it when I am about to sell it... but I don't want to sell a defective axe...

Thanks in advance for your help...

"Basses do not "gently weep"... they will rattle the walls, lay the foundation, soothe the body and the mind, or bellow in fury as they strike you down with a bat'leth, but they do not "gently weep"..."

That's definitely odd. I would spray some more cleaner in there and see what happens.
