| "the story of stuff" propoganda in the schools. Saw this video and found out it has been shown in over 7,000 of the government run schools in America. YouTube - Story of Stuff, Full Version; How Things Work, About Stuff
While there are some important things being discussed, I have never seen such a blatant anti-capitalist video like th is. But I shouldn't be surprised because it is sponsored by the TIDES foundation which is linked to the apollo alliance which is linked with ACORN. |

| Nothing in that video was factually wrong. What's the problem? |

Unless we give her a pass on the technicality of the word original (meaning the trees here in when 1176, 1620?) But if we were to go to th eforest level of the year 2,000 we would have to rid America of 14,000,000 acres of trees.
It is an anti capitalist economy agenda- which offers no alternative.
It is definitely anti-walmart. No surprise they are a favorite target of th eleft though they are one of the best porporate neighbors in America. They have serious issues so as not to discount them- but they are typical of big industires.
Well even though I am saddened by the intense materialism of America- this film equates consumerism with evil.
dioxins- while a perncious by product, they are far from th eworse man made chemical. Her blaming America as the lead culprit doesn't jibe with the contamination report from the WHO WHO | Dioxins and their effects on human health
Most clear cutting in 3rd world countries is for agrarain and not manufacturing purposes. |

| Yeah nolidad, no argument here (with the video). Consumerism and materialism are evil, and capitalism is the engine driving it.
Wal-Mart is not a good corporate neighbor -- what planet are you living on?!
Look, if this kind of curriculum raises a generation of kids who are very conscious of their consumption, of their impact on the planet, etc., and as a result change the way we do things -- I'm all for it! That's awesome!
Seriously, you're digging deep here.

It's obviously propaganda, if it were about facts they wouldn't use words like "trashing the planet". I am all for facts, presenting things in an intelligent manner, and not using scare tactics.
*edit*
I did find one thing wrong. She obviously doesn't know anything about computes "taht thing you replace every time is hidden away in the corner"... I assume she's talking about the processor. Which is usually featured prominently because it has HUGE fans and heat pumps on it. Not only that, but pretty much all parts of computers become obsolete because of technological advancements, not planned obsolescence.
*second edit*
As it goes on, it's progressively more wrong. This is pretty terrible.

By that I mean that honestly, for what I do on a computer at home in my spare time a computer from six or seven years ago would have been fine. It's all the new and improved software that comes out that requires I upgrade my computer.
The manufacturers drive my need for upgrading, not me telling them I need a system that will do this and that.
