| From what I've read they are decent enough quality. What I mean is that they'll stand up to a little abuse from moving it around and carrying them from gig to gig for those of us who play on the weekend. If you are out on the road and need something for touring, you're better off looking somewhere else.

| Well basically all I need it for is just to hold my pedals all together to take from church and then back to my dorm, so I think I might want to really look into one of these.
Edit: Wow I feel silly, I could have just done a search and found everything I needed.

| I've got two...they're fine. The hinges that hold the top on are my only concern...if you try to remove the top before you open the case up completely, they tend to bend out, and they're a butt to bend back. That said, for back and forth to church, it should be fine.

| So I've been thinking about buying one of these.
Specifically this one.
Has anyone used their flight case? Is it worth the extra money? I'm not expecting it to actually be flight-worthy, honestly. Just wanting something that's as sturdy as a standard case from most other companies. Haha
Are the regular cases just wood? with aluminum sides? I've also heard that the velcro on these is not worth using.
One last question, kinda specifically at Eric I suppose.
How much of a lip is there on these? I'm worried that my Nova Delay and my BDAB will be sunk down too low. Thanks for the answers guys. |

| Little bit of a bump I suppose. I'm really curious about these boards, but I need to make a decision pretty soon. Anyone? |

| I've been using one for about 4 years. It's a good board... for the price. The Velcro was junk, I went to the hardware store and bought some industrial Velcro for the bottom of my pedals.
My number one complaint is actually with the fabric on the board itself. It doesn't withstand moving the pedals much before it will start to pull off of the board. I wouldn't move them more then a couple of times. Is that my fault for using too much industrial strength Velcro?.. Maybe.
The case seems very flimsy. It's not wood, it might be metal, not real sure what it is. I was originally worried that I would break it by stepping on the lip (which is about 1 1/16") but this hasn't happened. That being said, I got the largest case they offered at that time and I have used it to carry all of me pedals as well as my guitar and amp stands. It is so big that it looks like a dummy case but it has held up well.
Two things to add. The handle is so heavy and the case is so light weight that if you just let go of the handle it has slightly dented the case (cosmetics only not a deep dent). While this isn't' a problem it doesn't helped with the perceived stability. Second, the case is so light weight that when it is closed you can actually push the side in at the seams and cause it to gap.
Overall, the fabric has been the only problem. If on a limited budget I would buy it again. That being said though, I just got a Pedal Train for Christmas. I haven't set it up yet but I'm in love with the idea of the slats instead of a solid board. The solid board just collects too much dirt. |

| Well, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get one of their flight cases, swap out the velcro, and maybe go down to Home Depot and assemble a little removable board. I'm going to get one of their really wide cases, which I'm excited about because then I'll be able to have just a single row of pedals.
Now, I just have to sell my SKB-55... |

When it started to come up, I ripped it, and replaced it with some carpet and Liquid Nails from Menards.
Other than that it lasted me years of gigging. |

| How stiff is the bottom? If I get one should I plan on putting a plank of wood in it to make sure that the pedals are adequately supported for normal pedal dancing, or is there enough support already? |

| Mine is one of the bigger ones. The quality is amazing for the price. But I wouldn't throw them around in the back of my truck like I would to an Anvil case.

This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight. | |
