After my first few listens yesterday, I was convinced that these guys are still easily some of the most competent musicians working in the christian slice of the industry. Maybe even the music industry at large.
How are the acoustic tracks? | The acoustic tracks are really good. They strip away a lot, and let you just focus on the simple melodies and words. Which, for an item titled church Music, is an interesting concept.
Talent wise, this album is off the charts. Also, the magazine with the preorder is simply awesome. |

| Yeah, it's kind of a tough album to appreciate since all of the tracks are sonically connected, but it keeps growing on me the more I listen. Actually, I think it gets easier to adjust to as the disc goes on. There seems to be more musical variety during the second half of Church Music then there is in the first half.

| And, upon further review, the acoustic songs are freakin' incredible. They could've made a whole album of just them. |

| All of these glowing reviews make me want to go purchase it. I had hoped that this one wouldn't disappoint as much as the new Skillet album, and apparently it won't. Now, I just need to find time to go get it.

Seriously, Skillet puts on one of the greatest shows out there. I'm working my third Skillet concert in Memphis next month. |

| I start substitute teaching tomorrow, and it's at my old high school. In a way, that's kinda reassuring, because I know where everything is, and more or less, how things are run. Granted, several teachers are no longer there, and it's a new principal, but I don't think it will be too bad. But then again, it is World Geography, and that means Freshmen. |

I hope it goes well.
Are you signed on for a certain number of days, weeks, or something, or exactly how is this going to work for you? |

Watch out, Skillet's manager Scottie is a complete control freak, and honestly, a pain. Having said that, he's the best in the biz, so just say "Yes, Sir" and do it. I worked a Camp concert a while back. Great guy, always likes to personally thank each member of the crew afterward. His wife is really nice too. |

| I really like most of the new Skillet album.
Are you teaching everyday? |
