R.I.P. Patrick Swayze

He finally lost his fight with cancer. I think I'll go out and rent Roadhouse in his honor.

I sort of expected this to happen sooner than later, what with his condition.

Doesn't change the fact that it's sad. The man was an icon.

Honestly, I didn't know this was going to happen.

I loved his role in Point Break.

He'd been suffering from pancreatic cancer for quite a while. Actually, according to his IMDB quotes page, that's kinda why he decided to do the TV show The Beast:

"[On accepting a continuing role in the series "The Beast" (2009)] How do you nurture a positive attitude when all the statistics say you're a dead man? You go to work."

It's closer to 5%, but that is still stunning. If you ever hear of someone you know being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, please send up a few extra prayers. It's a slow and very painful death.

I have seen his movie ghost and it is one of my all-time favorites. He was so young. Everybody famous seemed to be dying this year. Or is it because they are famous that I noticed? RIP Patrick...
