Smile My very first deer mount

I'm so proud.. I've mounted my first deer.

You just can't be a taxidermist without mounting a deer, ya know? lol

I hope to do a buck soon. But here is my cute little doe that I finished yesterday. There's several flaws in her, but I guess that's just the process of learning. I'll know next time.

This has really excited me. Now I want to learn all I can so I can mount a deer for the 2003 WORLD TAXIDERMY SHOWS IN SPRINGFIELD, IL!!!!

Hey Girl,
That looks pretty good to me. I think you did a fine job. I've got a couple of racks ( a 6 point & and an 8 point) you can mount them on her and no one would know the difference. I have a buddy that does that, I'll see if he has a website and post it for you.

Music, especially to a guitar player, is probably the most poweful addiction there is. As if under the influence of the most addictive drug around, a guitar player can forget all that is around him. While he plays, the pressures of the job, or everyday life, just simply fade away.

That is awesome Amy. It reminds me of my Dad's 8 point mule deer mount. The funny thing is, my Dad was going to mount it in his office at home. Well aparantly his dog (a German Shepherd) was scared to death of it, the first time she saw it she ran out of the den and into her dog pin in my parents bedroom. I laughed so hard. Well she never got over her fear of it so it went into his office at work.
