| The Bruins paid some revenge to the Hurricanes yesterday, 7-2, it was the first time since the lockout that a team has had seven different goal scorers in one game. My beloved Milan Lucic had a good fight with Harrison and left him with a bloody face.
Later in the third Shawn Thornton laid a beating to Andrew Alberts.
Unfortunately I missed seeing the game.

| The Sharks beat up on the Ducks. It was beautiful. I nearly cried. |

Maybe it's because Komisarek is a Leaf now

You know, my brother is a die hard Habs fan, and tensions rose between us when Komi and Lucic would fight. Now that Komisarek left, my brother said "you know, i'd probably cheer for Lucic in a fight now . . ."
That could be because he left and went to my brothers most hated team, but he said he kind of liked Lucic.
Well, this just makes for better discussions when Toronto and Boston play I guess. Komi better watch his back . . .

I don't think Lucic is overrated, he can play hockey as well as hit.

Alexei Ponikarovsky for the Leafs is a similar big body who hits and he put up 63 points last year and has 3 goals to start this season. He may not fight or hit to hurt like Lucic, but I don't think many general managers would take Lucic over Ponikarovsky.

| I would take Lucic over Ponikarovsky in a heartbeat. Consider that Lucic is still only 21(!) years old, while Ponikarovsky is 29. That means Lucic still has a lot of room to improve his game. Also, power forwards tend to take a few seasons in the NHL to really start hitting their stride. The upside for Lucic is huge!
I want to repeat that: he's only 21 years old! |

Leafs lost. Again.
Stajan got the goal though.

| The Bruins just signed Lucic for 4 years, so I'm definitely considering that. I'm not talking about a one-season thing, I'm talking about what would be best for a hockey team. I would rather have Lucic for 4 years than Ponikarovsky for 4 years. |

But Lucic's 4 years will probably be more productive than Ponikarovsky, agreed.

| After all the debate in Toronto about Gustavsson vs. Toskala, Gustavsson is injured. Joey MacDonald was called up, which means Toskala is almost for sure the starter on Saturday. It's not a serious injury, but it's amusing that the goalie issue will be resolved for the time being by injury and not by a whimsical coach.
