CGR Fantasy Hockey '09 - '10

I'm quite happy. A lot of my success is dependent on my goalies(Fleury, Backstrom, and Mason) and the combos of Thornton/Heatley and Lecavalier/St. Louis.

Did I mention I got Ovechkin?

I'm pretty happy with my team. Of course, in a four-person league you're going to end up with a lot of talent, but I'm especially happy with my goaltending situation (Thomas, Brodeur, and Rinne) and my defense (Phaneuf, Boyle, Streit, and Neidermayer). Having Crosby, Carter, Iginla, and Kovalchuk up front doesn't hurt either.

I have Weber, Markov, Lidstrom, and Kaberle.

It's true though, you think you have a great team but then you look around and realize that everyone has a great team.

I got my boy Patty Marleau. And Evgeni Nabokov. And a bunch of other really good players. A good auto draft.

Well, I ended up with an all Washington/Vancouver team like I wanted. Except that I also have Jason Blake, which is cool. Anyway, my team may not end up being very good, but I chose those players so that I could basically follow two teams this season. We'll see what it does for my hockey education and if it makes me a bigger fan. The hope is that it does.

BIG night last night for everybody, with just about every team in action. My only complaint is that Ovechkin didn't register a point for something like the first time in his career.

Oh no, Ovechkin is off his 3 point per game pace! I have him in a different pool and he was very good to me this week...

Meanwhile, Rachael's all Canucks/Capitals team is destroying me...

Meanwhile, I'm doing the worst. I'm doing much better in my office pool, where I'm currently in 4th of 12. I like to think it's because of my late-round savvy, picking up lesser known contributors, which doesn't translate well into a smaller league...

Now my team is Canucks/Capitals + 1 Maple Leaf and 1 Islander. w00t.

I felt like I was jumping on the bandwagon picking up Anze Kopitar, but boy am I ever glad I did. The first game he played for me... hat-trick!

If I get two quality starts from Fleury and Backstrom tonight I should be able to go 3-0 on the year. If they both do badly, all bets are off.

I have Kopitar in my other pool. He's been very good to me.

If there had been more teams in the league, I definitely would have had him - he was high on my list.
