| 94 Ford Taurus Wagon First off sorry for making so many threads here, but apparently I love cars.
So if my RX7 deal falls through due to idiots stealing it from me.. My bro just recently got a new car and would sell me his Ford Taurus wagon 94 for 150$.
Back windows dont work, when he turns left sharply it like studders and shakes then goes back to normal he doesnt know why. and the only other problem is sometimes going up a giant hill in the heated weather itll overheat and smoke a bit, not sure if thats a radiator cap or what but yep....
Would it be worth payin the 150 for it? its an autotragic but hey... 150 is like half my paycheck.... brand new tires on it he just paid 198 dolla for. |

| Buy it> take the new tires off> scrap the car> sell the tires> combine money and buy a good car off of Craigslist.
Seriously... I have seen some amazing deals recently.
EDIT: >Example
I just found a '99 BMW 323I w/ less than 10,000 miles for 5k. It's in really good condition
I also found an '02 Silverado 2500hd quad cab turbo diesel for $1,600

That approach will be alot of work and not yeald a whole lot of money... if you need transport now, buy the taurus, dont put ANY money into it, and save for what you want. It sounds like that car has seen better days, so it probably isn't worth fixing right.
As to a 10K mile E36 323i for 5K, The car must either be a salvage title, its in piss poor condition, or the 10K is a typo and it is a 100K car.
Shameless Plug... If you are really looking for a sports car and can find a way to finance it (BECU will finance just about anything with a clean title and under 100K on the clock)...I have a Triumph TR7 that served me as a DD for several years that I am letting go for $3500.

| Jake's Triumph is one of the better TR7's out there. I've seen/ridden in/driven it. And it started when we told it to.
As far as the 150-dollar Taurus goes. If you have confidence that it will be semi-reliable/drivable until you can save enough for a different car, then go for it. For 150 bucks, it would have to not move to not be worth it. |

| I'd buy the Taurus for now, but save your pennies for a real car. |

There are amazing deals to be had, but you really need to know what to look for... Remember, the person on the other end of the deal is trying to make money. If they are selling a good for a given value that is lower than expected, there is most likely a reason for it. People tend to over-estimate the value of their things, not underestimate.

So, if you had a 3000+ pound car, you could deliver it to the metal yard (with title) and make more than $180. The cost would be fuel to deliver the car and whatever you'd need to tow it (trailer, dolly, etc). As long as the car rolls down the road under its own power, even poorly, you don't have to pay to transport it to the metal yard. |

| well, let's just say, very light, very naturally aspirated, very 8 cylinder setup with ITB's, spaghetti headers, and a ton of chassis work
I'd guess that a ~350-375 whp car that revved like a bike and handled like a crazed ninja would be awesome |
