The last thing I want is a movie like Iron Man to get "Pacified." |

Disney owns a HUGE number of major film companies. Sure they crank out plenty of goofy kid's stuff, but they also own Hollywood Pictures ( Grosse Point Blank and The Sixth Sense), Touchstone Pictures ( Gone in 60 Seconds, Con Air, Enemy of the State), Miramax Films ( No Country for Old Men, Doubt, There Will Be Blood) as well as many other film studios. I suspect that Marvel will largely be allowed to continue to operate the they have been operating for the last several years.

| Thesteve has things about right. This is a business move by Disney and it puts Marvel in a good position. Remember, Marvel dealt with bankruptcy not too far in the past, so this places them on firmer footing. |

| Ah... That gives me some greater security. I didn't realize Disney owned so much. Well, maybe this won't be all bad... Disney just puts a bad taste in my mouth these days (though their old cartoons are phenomenal). |

| I was shocked when I saw this on CNN earlier. I can't believe an icon is being sold like this, but alas, it's business. Besides, it's (hopefully) better for it to happen like this than for Marvel to go bankrupt. That would suck.

| It may be financially-wise, but I don't trust Disney with these properties.
