NFL 2009

Bad news for the Chiefs: Chiefs' Kingdom Collapses with Cassel's Fall - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

Not that it matters, San Diego should dominate an AFC West that is even weaker than last season.

That hurts.

My beloved 49ers have looked pretty good in the pre-season, going 3-0 so far. I am excited to see how things go this year. I have missed football.

Indeed. How much of an impact do you think Mike Singletary has had on the improvements that the 49ers have made?

Brett just can't avoid looking like a dirt bag.

Oh come on. I don't think that was done with any sort of malicious intent whatsoever. How much run blocking do you think Favre has done from the wideout position in his career? He made a mistake. Fine him if you want. Call him a traitor if you want. Call him a prima donna. Self-obsessed and selfish? A shell of his former self? Sure. But don't make him out to be some villain just because he can't run block appropriately.

Amen!

Seriously, your gonna stoop that low to rip Favre?Do I like what he's become and how he's handled his retire/unretire situation? Not in the least, but Favre has never been a dirty player and to imply that he was trying to injury another player is just crazy!

I'm not trying to rip on Favre - I would think it was dirty regardless of who did it. I would be pretty upset if someone tried to do something like that to me in a game. I'm also not trying to make a really big deal about this, because its not, but you can ruin seasons doing something like that. Maybe he didn't do it on purpose, but I just think he should know better.

Being a Chiefs fan for decades I can say; Bad news for Chiefs...the NFL season starts.

Injuries happen, but I'm not totally sold on Cassel yet anyway. I DO like what's happening in the front office, and believe that is where change has to originate from and then on-field changes can begin to develop within the next 2-3 seasons. My prediction for KC: 6 wins, 10 losses

I don't see why everyone is all upset at Favre for changing his mind about retiring a bunch of times...if someone still wants him to play somewhere, who cares if he takes a while to decide for sure?

In other news, this is shaping up to be an interesting season.

Finally the NFL season is underway, and what a great game to start it off!

I watched the entire Steelers/Titans game, and for some reason it seemed the Titans dominated for the majority of the game, and let it slip away. I DID feel bad for Hines Ward, glad his mistake didn't cost them the game.

The best part for me was the commercial that Sears aired featuring Brett Favre...I actually had to laugh out loud. Probably the best way for Favre to address his inability to make a decision, just laugh about it.

I think it was just a horrendously designed play. I mean, why on earth would you direct a trick play to the side where the only player available to block is your starting QB? That's just madness. That's why the Dolphins are so good at this; design the play so the QB (at wideout) can just run out of bounds or fall down to avoid getting hurt.

Especially with an old quarterback. If it was a younger guy like Jay Cutler or Matt Ryan, I could see it just because it would be so unexpected, but to try that in pre-season play is stupid.

I don't think it's worth risking with any high quality NFL QB, especially in the preseason.
