I am really hating the new trends in education more and more each day.

"Linda Simensky, vice president for children's programming at PBS, says that when Reading Rainbow was developed in the early 1980s, it was an era when the question was: "How do we get kids to read books?"

Since then, she explains, research has shown that teaching the mechanics of reading should be the network's priority."

That really sux. I really liked the show because they had the guy from Star Trek teaching me how to read. They had some good episodes.

I didn't even know this was still going. I loved watching it as a kid though.

I can go twice as high.

I love this show, and I am sad to see it go.

Am I the only person on here who didn't actually care for this show? Of course, it could be because I was farther advanced in my reading than my peers and I was forced to watch it in school.

I remember we used to call my cousin Josh Rainbows.... I don't know why, but I think it had to do with the show.

I really had no idea it was still going on....
