Look, man. It doesn't matter what sort of 'checkpoint' is set up for her. She's going to try to sail more than 26,000 miles, alone. It's a bad idea. Period. It's a bad idea for her parents to support it.

Right. We know she has experience sailing. We really don't know much about the other things (mechanical, electrical, etc.) Her parents were both sailors, so we can assume she has learned from them. Like I said before, the government intervention has less to do with her sailing ability and more to do with her parents' decision making ability.

I have not insulted her. Not one bit. I'm sure she is an exceptionally bright 13-year-old girl. I maintain that her parents are not the best decision makers ever.

People use to sail all the time without going insane sometimes by them self’s get lost and they where young 13-19

but that is why the are checking her out first

also sean might be right which is how they will ahve someone near to help not right there but spoters you know to protect just like any thing eles solo someone can be near they just cnat helo yuo unless you life is in danger

HF radio over water from airliners is borderline unreadable, at best..... VHF is line of sight, and doesn't work.

Also.... even if that is true, their intervention would mean a failure of the mission, as it would no longer have been a 'solo' activity. So either way, it sucks.

we dont but odds are she has learend some things about the other two they usleay go hand and hand but you are right we dont know

Easy back when sailing was the only way around kids would go on bots and there are many story’s but Idk where to find that kind of thing

also when did i say it was a good idea i might not agree with it but it is her and her family choices
