Jon, I hate to nitpick, but Paint.NET isn't open source, it's freeware.

Hey, so.... HOW is a design magazine and company, and they put on a conference every year that is uh-mazing from what I've heard. My coworker went this year, and loved it. They make the handouts available from the sessions on their site, so here you go:
