The Boy In The Striped Pajamas.

I was thinking about reading this, but I didn't know if it was going to be like really sad or something? Has anyone read it? Is it good? I saw the movie and it made me cry the whole time and now I really want to read the book, should I?

Something to keep in mind, though it does not necessarily change the quality of the book or movie, is that it is not a true story.
