The Words I would Say

I love this song too. I'm still learning guitar, not very good at it yet. But, I believe this song is played in key of Bb. It's too hard for me to play so use capo 3rd fret, and play in key of G. Here is my attempt. Please correct any mistaking

CAPO 3

G Em C
Three in the morning, and I'm still awake, so I picked up a pen and a page,
G Em C
And I started writing, Just what I'd say, If we were face to face,
D Em C
I'd tell you just what you mean to me,
D Em C G
I'd tell you these simple truths,

G Em
Be strong in the Lord and, Never give up hope,
C D
You're going to do great things, I already know,
G Em
God's got His hand on you so, don't live life in fear,
C D
Forgive and forget, but don't forget why you're here,
Em C
Take your time and pray,
D D7 C G
These are the words I would say,

Awesome! Thanks. Just got around to checking this again. I'll have to try it out. My guitar is sitting at church at the moment... Doesn't do much good there eh?

In the verse it think it goes G D Em7 C for the first to lines then D Em7 C for the last 2 then in the chorus is the same as the verse.

The Words I Will Say

I learned alot from this guy Graham Choo from Singapore, For YOUR Glory. I asked him to listen to the song and get the chords, and his reply is as follow:

The Words I Would Say by Sidewalk Prophets

(Capo 1st Fret)

Intro: E, F#m, D...
Verse: A, A/G#, F#m, D...
Pre-Chorus: E, F#m, D...
Chorus:
(A, A/G#, F#m, D)x2,
E, F#m, D, E, F#m.
Interlude: A, D, E, D.
Bridge: G, D, A, E, G, D, E.
Outro: A, D, E, D, A, D.

Hope that help. It's such a great song!

The Sidewalk Prophets use capos at the 3rd fret, too. I like the sound of the open strings in the G position. The main verse and chorus structure is G-D-Em-C.

reply to the chords for sidway prophets song

My friend and I can usually put the chords together on many songs by downloading the song. Purchasing it on Rhapsody usually. so this is what we came up with. We use a capo on the first fret to be in tune with the original soundtrack. Great song. We love it! God bless you all. Happy Sabbath.
