| My Evil Twin (Has a Moustache) (RC) Sometimes I find that I take songwriting far too seriously and I find that it makes it very difficult for me to actually write songs. There's an irony there, I think. Since the demise of my band, The Neverknown, I have started a comic book punk rock band called Hooray For Gooba! that aims to be immensely fun. Right now it's just me, so I guess it's an acoustic punk rock band. Here's the first hit single: My Evil Twin (Has a Moustache)
My evil twin appeared last week out of a tear between dimensions
He spent the week ingratiating himself to all of my friends
He managed to convince them all that he is from this dimension
Why can't they see that it's not me, he blatantly has a moustache
[chorus]
My evil twin has a moustache
My evil twin from another dimension
My evil twin has a moustache
It's pencil thin and from another dimension
My evil twin is just like me, except that he kicks puppies
Well, what I mean is that he kicks them a little more often
To clarify, I mean he seems to enjoy it more than I do
And besides, it's obvious he's evil, just look at his moustache
[chorus]
[bridge]
Shoot him, not me!
He's the evil twin!
[chorus]

| I regret Ill never be able to write funny songs....I dont think this kind of stuff resides in me!!! hahaha i realize the recording is just acoustic and vox, but i think it would greatly add to the hilarity if it could be produced full-band style....if only it was so easy to record all that.... |

| I'm planning on giving this the full-band treatment once I have some more acoustic demos recorded. I can do MIDI for the drums and borrow a bass, which is pretty much all it needs. Well, that and loud, obnoxious electric guitars. |

| I know I've told you this in person many times, but I love this song. I find myself singing it randomly during the day. I love how it has a kind of theme song melody/feel to it.
And now you have a bass of your own to record with! Can't wait to hear the "full band treatment"!

| This could have been the script of a Dinosaur Comic.

And yes, as Rachael has hinted at, now that I have a bass, I should be able to give this a full-band treatment fairly soon. MIDI drums, of course, but it'll have to do for now. I spent a brief amount of time last night figuring out a fun bass line for this song. |

| Love it!
I can't critique it though, because I'm a mom. |

| Awesome. Needs an epic guitar solo though. Like something really outlandishly over-done.

The "full-band" version is almost complete. I just need to take a few more vocal passes and consider additional backup vocals. I will be entering it in the CGR Battle of the Bands competition. |
