Muscle or Import?

Im down for both, I actually like the older Mustang look but imports are always awesome.

Modern Muscle FTW... but I would take some imports over some classic muscle cars.

Modern muscle is cost prohibitive....

The more I think about it, the more I think that the perfect car is always the most reliable/economical/useable option available. And here's why:

Give me some airborne muscle any day. Can your car pull 6+ G's in a turn? How about 9+? I didn't think so.....

An airplane, and a shift kart... and I'll be a happy man.

Have you ever seen the Blue Devil race the Blue Angel? The Vette was winning for the first 100ft or so... after that not so much

besides most people can't legally fly planes.

Hahaha.... yeah, those 'car vs. jet' races are hilarious...

The speed limits are better in the air.

Where there's a will, there's a way. Cost is an issue, but there are several ways around that.... It just takes a bit of persistence, and willingness to make sacrifices.

My Dad had a pilot's license and a plane (a Piper 140) for a long time before he was married/ had me and my bro... I wouldn't mind doing it except I'm afraid I'll get vertigo like he does now (he gets it really easily... even on a ferris wheel) I'm not sure how he went from flying planes to getting sick from playing flight simulators but I don't want it to happen to me.

I'm starting to think we need an airplane forum, since we can't seem to stay on topic here....

In any case.... that is strange about the vertigo thing. I've not heard of that happening before. It's unfortunate, to be sure.

Indeed... there should be a Car, airplane, and a "other" (atvs, motorcycles, home made vehicles, go karts, etc... basically the GD or vehicles) forum

Modern Muscle

the original Muscle

comparable import
???*

I have 100 more similar examples if you want... I would take the Modern Muscle 90% of the time.

Pontiac G8 =/= M5. You're comparing a 40k car, to an 80k car, and the difference is clear.

then what would be comparable to the G8 GXP? (I still like to pretend it is a Chevelle though )

I happen to know that the Cadillac CTS-V killed the M5 in every category except fit and finish)

What would be comparable to the G8? I don't know if there is a good comparison. I'm not sure the Germans are really concerned with competing with the G8... For the money, your best bet for a competitor is probably a used Benz. Who knows.... I'm not really up on how much used late-model Benz's go for.

The CTS-V is a powerful car. The M5 is a powerful car. Both are fast. Both are also infinitely pointless. You're in a car so huge, heavy, and so luxury-filled, that you're so separated from the actual road that it's retarded. It's like sitting on a sofa, and watching the world go by at a million miles-per-hour. Absolutely useless for actual 'performance driving.' Everyone in the real world is only going to use them for tooling around to demonstrate how much money they can waste, and occasionally doing the useless burnout to demonstrate how 'fast' their car is.

And come to think of it.... I doubt BMW is really concerned with anything Cadillac is producing anyway. For the money, there will always be faster and more powerful cars than a BMW M-anything. But the owner of said M-car, will not care one bit. Give me a choice between a new M5, a CTS-V, and the 4-banger M3... and I'll choose the last one every time. It has 192 horses, goes 0-60 in right around 7 seconds, and no one who has one cares, because they're having more fun.

Edit.... can a mod shrink one or more of those pictures? That would be awesome....
