| Confused and extremely pissed I don't know what to do. On my student account it says I owe 2,900 for this semester. ON a seperate page for my accepted financial aid package it says I don't owe anything. Comparing the awards, there is one not listed on my account, yet it was already accepted. It is my Unsubsidized loan. Or that is all the info on it that is on that page.

| Seriously. Call the Registrar's Office or Business Office right away and ask specifically how much you owe. |

| Some funds take longer than others to roll in to the financial aid department so they can credit it to your account. I would bet that that's probably the case here, but you can just call or go in and then you'll know for sure.

| Don't let it stress you, college is full of mishaps and confusion that could easily lead a person to an early grave if you let it. I agree that you need to attend to it right away.
People should get at least one credit for successfully negotiating the registration process. Financial aid mix-ups should also be worth one, and successfully getting your transcripts sent to the next college so that you can start on time is easily a two unit course.
Maybe it's hazing. |

It processes the bills before the loans or payments, and issues a bill for the full amount even if you already paid it.
Call the accounting office or stop in. I have had this happen to me at a couple schools and each time it was no big deal.

| Get in touch with them as soon as possible. Mistakes happen all the time in the offices of colleges. I'm not really sure why. If what happened there happened in a real company then the company would be out of business. With that being said, I'm sure everything will work out. Just go by and see them if that's possible. For whatever reason I always had better luck if I dealt with them face to face than if I did over the phone or through e-mail.

They do not know how to use the software well and are just a little, well green.

| No students work in our finance office and mistakes still happen. For us, it's largely because we're under-staffed. There's currently a hiring freeze, so we haven't been able to replace a couple people who have left. It also doesn't help that our software is ancient and we have no money to replace it. Still, the errors are minimal and we have enough checks and balances that they are always caught and fixed. Unfortunately, they're sometimes caught and fixed after students have already seen the errors and are freaking out...
Honestly, cut the people who work in those offices some slack. It can be a very stressful job. If there's an issue, call in, e-mail them, or talk to them face-to-face and they should be able to help you out and sort out what the issue is.

They hire too many students, which really reflects more on management than on said students. But like I said, it is perhaps a familliar glitch which is a simple software missetup.

| I stopped by and everything was cleared up.
For some reason my Unsubsidized loan wasn't showing up, so I submitted it again and everything was fine!
Thanks for the advice you all
