| Incorrect spelling of my Name ... uuurrrrrr Boy do I cringe when some puts an 'e' at the end of my name. You see, it is optional for those who do not know but since I know how MY name should be spelt, I am ready to punce but do so very graciously. And the last name? huh! Almost equal - there the 'i' is replaced with a 'y'. This is interesting though, as long as the cheques have the correct spelling it is ok.
Mass mailers tend to get it wrong but that is ok. No need to call them to correct.
What are some of your reactions, if any?

| As a guy who has had his name spelled with an "ie" for 37 years, even by my own GRANDMOTHER, I sympathize with ya...

#4 | | ♥ Mrs. Skeeter ♥ | My username used to have my first name in it, and people would still spell it incorrectly. Even when all they had to do was look at the screen and see... it's "ael." Michael with an "Ra" instead of an "Mi." It's not very hard. It doesn't really bother me when people spell my name incorrectly, I just don't understand why it happens so much in situations where it really shouldn't. *sigh*

| My name is Bobbi. Everyone spells it Bobbie. When I went to get my driver's license, I had my birth certificate in my hand. My mother was there to verify my name. The woman still insisted that my legal name had to be Roberta. I had to really argue with her to not have my driver's license end up with someone else's name on it.
I was named for my father who was Bobbie. I'm sure his name was misspelled a lot too. |

| There are a lot of spellings of Sean though, and unless you see it it's hard to guess since they sound the same.

| My first name gets mispelled all the time.
Correct: Noelle
Incorrect: Noel, Nowell, Noele, Nicole, etc.
I actually answer to Nicole because I have several people who will never learn that my name is Noelle. I just deal with it, although I find it annoying (moreso than the various mispellings). I actually am somewhat impressed when people spell my name correctly first go (most people spell it Noel).

| No one ever spells my first name wrong. It would be a difficult thing to do. However, everyone always has to ask 'e-n or o-n?' about my last name. |

Same here. All through school my name (Steve) had an "a" added. Steave, Staeve. Also, my last name is Cason. I've always been called Carson or Casey and even Cashon once. |
