I got hijacked a couple of years ago. Somebody used my card number to go to a bunch of Pay porn sites. I was able to get all the charges reversed, and changed the card number, but it took a while to get it all cleared up. I'm really anal about checking my statement every month so I caught it right away.

Now you Americans have changes coming with your credit cards, with three good options.

I nominate this for "post most likely to get us spambotted".

It has never happened to me. I'm reluctant to buy stuff online. I'm also suprised that it has happened to so many people! I wonder how people steal the information?!

Been hijacked twice recently. One got in a back door through my wifes pay pal account. And one got our info from a mail order pharmacy my wife uses for headache meds (which coast an arm and a leg, but who wants a wife with a headache all the time?) In both cases we were able to get our money back. The pay pal one was a little tough, the bank wanted pay pal to pay and of course pay pal wanted the bank to pay.

Generally our cards seem to be monitored pretty close by the lenders. I carry a card I never really use...it's pretty much for emergencies. A few months ago I decided to use it on the way to work just to keep it active. So I bought gas in Houston, had lunch in Beaumont, and bought some things at Walmart in Jennings Louisiana. The lender called my wife, I guess that looked a little suspicious to them.
